Car History:
One of the true icons of early-2000s GT racing, faithfully reproduced in 1:32 scale by Fly Car Model.
This is the factory Schnitzer Motorsport BMW M3 GTR #42, driven by J.J. Lehto, Fredrik Ekblom and Karl Wendlinger at the 2001 Petit Le Mans, wearing the striking white and blue "Original BMW Parts" livery with checkered-flag graphics. The real car went on to dominate the 2001 American Le Mans Series GT class, sweeping both the Drivers' and Teams' championships with seven race wins from ten starts — before BMW was controversially forced out of the series for 2002 after a homologation protest from Porsche, since no road-going M3 existed with the GTR's race-spec V8. It remains one of the most talked-about GT programs of its era.
This Fly model captures every detail of the wide-body E46-based racer — deep front splitter, flared arches, roll cage and driver figure visible through the glass, and the enormous rear wing that defined the silhouette. Full sponsor and event decals are included: Castrol, Michelin, and the German national colours.
